Department of Home Science

The department of home science was established in 2004. Since 2006 Dr. Samarpana Awasthi works as head of the department. The department aims to train the students to make the needs of rural and urban families as contributors to food production, environment conservation and enhancement of human resources.

Home science is concerned with the attainment of the well being of individuals and families, improvement of homes and preservation of values, significant in home life. Being a multidisciplinary subject, a varied spectrum of courses were included in the curriculum of Home science, the subjects being taught are Food and Nutrition, Human Resource Management ,Extension and Communication, Textiles and Clothing, Human Development, Interior Decoration, Food Sciences ,Human physiology etc.

Home science department conducts workshop, and educational visit.

The students who have passed from home science department have been working at different academic and non -academic positions in various organisations and institutions.
