Department of Economics

Career convent girl’s degree college received its affiliation from Lucknow University in the year 2004 for faculty of arts and started B.A. classes from the session 2004-2005. The department of economics is established in 2004, the department of economics is amongst the youngest of the department in the college, but it has made a qualitative contribution to under-graduate education in economics since its initiation. At present Dr. Neeta Srivastava is teaching and working since 2013 as a Head of the Department till date.

The Vision of the department of economics consists of exploring the economic study and analysis, policy framing and implementation issued faced by the Indian economy along with the analysis of other economies in the world.

The Mission of the department of economics is to support to the mission of college by, Providing quality instruction to students to prepare them for successful career, Engaging in scholarly activity to maintain academic performance and to advanced knowledge in fields of specialisation of department faculty, and Providing service to the college.

The teaching pattern of the department of economics has based on students learning ability. The department provide study material according to syllabus. Tutorial classes are also available for those students which are not able to come during the lecture time due to some reasons. As well as remedial class are organised by the department for weak students. Our economics department is showing ppt. of various important topics of economics and holding discussion for the same which has the students to involve them more in and about the topic. Department organises student’s growth oriented programme in which various seminars, workshop, exhibition and special lectures by expert of various field in economics and co-curricular activities are held.

The college library is very well equipped with text books and reference books of economics which the students can issue.
